CELPIP Training

What is CELPIP?

The Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) is an English language assessment tool designed to measure functional English abilities. It is officially accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency applications and other immigration pathways.

Unlike other English tests, CELPIP is completely computer-delivered, making it convenient and user-friendly. It focuses on real-life English skills you'll need for living and working in Canada.

Why take CELPIP?

If you're applying for Canadian permanent residency, citizenship, or certain professional designations, demonstrating your English proficiency is essential. CELPIP is one of the most popular options because:

  • It evaluates everyday English used in workplace and community settings.
  • Results are usually available within 4-5 calendar days.
  • You can take the entire test in one sitting.

CELPIP test components

The test consists of four sections:

  1. Listening — Understand conversations and discussions.
  2. Reading — Interpret written materials and workplace communication.
  3. Writing — Compose emails and respond to survey questions.
  4. Speaking — Answer questions and express opinions clearly.

Strong preparation can make a big difference in your score. We recommend these resources:
